From what I found out through my findings is, the grunge genre was originate from Seattle and it was known as Seattle sound, back then there are already a lot of bands who were out playing in their local gig. Grunge was not popular/mainstream at that time. But when Kurt Cobain came along he revolutionize Grunge, he changed the music industry, he became a legend. Nirvana didn't go to the mainstream, the mainstream came to Nirvana, Kurt Cobain created a world of his own thru playing, and the people too created a world of themselves by listening. Thru his popularity starting from the year 1988 to 1994, Kurt Cobain not only influenced the mass thru his music but also, his outlooks and his lifestyles.
