Anyway, a suggestion for those who are conducting their research using focus group,
get an assistant to help you take notes on nonverbal cues because they DO matter in your analysis. Don't forget to audio/videotape the discussion!

Okay, for example, the person is digging his ear while answering your question of "Do you have a negative perception on these people?"

So, you may translate it this way;

Respondent #1: Let me put it this way *digs his ears* i think that these people are.......

That ear-digging action may actually mean something else.The person may be contradicting his words.he may be uncomfortable with your question.My example is silly but I hope you get the point.
If not,
ask la!
