Hey guys,I did some research about Tun M and Media Freedom,at first i found out that in 2008 he said Media should be free from the government,and he admit that he was also banned from appearing in any TV show or news because of the restriction by PM office,so all media dont dare to invite him in any talk show or interviews,and also universities in malaysia was also banned from inviting him to give speeches,so now he's fighting for Media Freedom,but in 2003 he said that there should be some limit to freedoms that would damage the moral value of the society.
He said the new lifestyle which had corrupted the minds of Malaysians, such as the exposure to pornographic materials, had, for example, influenced the youngsters to commit sexual crimes.He also said that nowadays people are brave enough to spread false information about the government and media should be blame for it.
So actually Mahathir only support media freedom when he was not the person who has the power to control it anymore???
